Hundreds of people turned out for the tenth annual Proms in the Park in Wellington Park on Saturday evening.

Wellington Silver Band, made up of more than two dozen members, played patriotic prom favourites along with pop classics from the 1950s to the present day.

Members of the audience waved union flags and enjoyed picnics in the sunshine at the free to watch event.

Band chairman Geoff Samuel said he would like to thank the Friends of Wellington Park and The Dolphin, which provided a food outlet and a bar, for supporting the event.

The Silver Band is looking for percussionists able to read music – anyone interested should call Geoff Samuel on 01823 663561.
