A WELLINGTON man has been told by magistrates he will go to prison unless he stays out of trouble with the law for the next 12 months.

Joseph Marshall, aged 35, of Kelway Road, appeared in Taunton Deane Magistrates Court for a sentencing hearing on Wednesday, May 27.

Marshall had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing on March 21 to three charges of using threatening or abusive behaviour toward two women and a man in Wellington all on the same day, February 12 this year.

Chairman of the bench Dr James O’Brien sentenced Marshall to 20 weeks in prison, but suspended the order for 12 months.

Dr O’Brien also ordered Marshall to pay compensation to his three victims totalling £320 and prosecution costs of £85.
