THREE Wellington women were named as finalists in the 2025 West Country Women’s Awards in different categories.
The awards are designed to celebrate and honour the achievements of women in the South West, recognising their contributions to various fields and the impact they have on their communities.
It also aims to support women and foster a culture of inclusivity and equality, while highlighting their accomplishments.
One of the women nominated for the finals was Fiona Mahoney, who was put forward for the Community Award for her work with Reminiscence Learning, a charity dedicated to supporting people living with dementia and those who care for them.
Her nomination was based off of years of commitment, dementia-friendly programmes, and seeking to build more connected communities.
Another finalist is Emma Gray, who has been nominated in the Small Business of the Year Award. A qualified therapeutic counsellor and former wills and probate solicitor, Ms Gray founded Rainbow Hunting after experiencing personal loss as a military widow.
Her business provides one-to-one grief and life coaching, workshops, and the Sadmin course, guiding people through bereavement, end-of-life admin, and navigating life changes.
Ms Gray’s approach aims to blend legal expertise with lived experience, giving support and guidance to help clients find clarity after a loss.
Rounding off the trio of Wellington women nominated at the awards is photographer Aisling Magill, who has been nominated for two awards.
She secured finalist spots for Best Supporting Act and the Women in Digital & Marketing Award, highlighting both her creative flair and her positive influence across local businesses, community projects and the wider visual marketing scene.
The grand final will be at the Crowne Plaza in Plymouth on Friday, November 28. A total of 2,060 nominations were received from across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset, which is the highest in the awards’ four-year history.
