ANYONE waiting to spend a penny at the new toilet block in Longforth Road, Wellington, will have to hold it just a while longer as the long-awaited opening is once more delayed.
The official opening of the new public conveniences was expected in early August but was then pushed back to the end of the month.
Now, town council chief executive Dave Farrow has informed councillors in a report for a meeting on Monday (September 7) that a lengthy list of snagging issues needs to be sorted before the £220,000 block receives its first visitor.
Councillors will meet in secret on Monday to hear details of the problems in ‘confidential papers’ and consider the ‘contractual position and discussions that have been held’.
