A FIFTEEN-second video of a tyre being sealed has become a social media viral sensation for a Wellington company.

Millions of people worldwide have now seen the video clip, made by family-run business Air-Seal Products, of Greenham.

It was filmed to showcase the company’s range of premier tyre sealants and has now been viewed more than 18 million times on TikTok and has had more than 36 million hits on Instagram.

Marketing executive Hayley Nicholson told the Wellington Weekly: “The short demonstration video shows a 15 mm puncture being permanently sealed by our popular heavy duty tyre sealant.

“We have now had inquiries from all over the world as a result of the reel, including Finland, the Caribbean, and Brazil.”

Air-Seal, which was founded in 2000 and now employs nine people, sells only one product - a water-based sealant containing fibres of Kevlar, the material used for bullet-proof vests.

One of its three brands of sealant is sold to the military and used in NATO vehicles.
