AN ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ version of Wellington’s Wacky Wednesday events is being held in the town’s park on Wednesday (April 15).

The fun starts at 11 am and runs until 12.45 pm and will include free craft activities and games such as decorating and hanging wooden Easter eggs and flower making, a bouncy castle, a barbecue, and an Easter egg hunt.

There will also be a stall manned by staff from Wellington’s new Kings Arms community hub.

Wacky Wednesdays, which are held during school holiday times, cost £1 each and places must be booked in advance online.

The events usually attract hundreds of people and have traditionally been organised by a partnership of agencies working with disadvantaged local families, including Wellington One, Churches Together, LiveWest, Everyone Active, Growing Minds, and police.

However, the town council recently agreed to take overall responsibility for the initiative as part of its growing portfolio of community services.

A range of local community services and organisations take part to give out information which may be helpful to families.

A spokesperson said: “Our Wacky Wednesday magic is growing, and you do not want to miss a moment.

“Do not be the one hearing about it after it is full.”
