‘GUESTS’ are invited to a wedding on Saturday (March 9) when Clayhidon Parish Hall is transformed into a 1960s wedding venue for a new show called It Is Now.

It’s theatre with a difference, with touring company Anonymous is A Woman, whose actors draw audience members into the centre of their play and welcome them as wedding guests.

Imagine every wedding you’ve ever been to – the frantic mother of the bride, the one relative who’s had a little too much to drink – only this time it’s the day of the 1966 World Cup, and everyone has an ear to the radio while no one keeps an eye on the groom and his bride’s best friend. Chaos ensues.

It’s a charming, funny, fully and gently immersive night of theatre, with superb period details and great swinging 60s music, from Dusty Springfield and The Supremes, to The Beach Boys and The Beatles. It is produced in association with Villages in Action.

Tickets priced £9 adults, £7 children, family £25, supper £5 (only if booked in advance) are available from Caroline Bendle on 01823 681047 or [email protected] Doors open at 7pm, the show is at 7.30pm.

n Bowjangles, the all-singing, all-dancing comedy string quartet, originally advertised for February 17, are performing at Clayhidon Parish Hall on Saturday, May 4.
