AN accomplished marketing professional and Wellington community volunteer has released his latest book

The second in the PowerPoint & Coffee series, Michael Pollak’s, PowerPoint & Coffee – The Refill, offers readers an entertaining look into the realities of life in the marketing world.

This new release follows on the success of his first book, building on the author’s signature blend of humour, honesty, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.

The sequel has already received widespread praise, with readers describing it as “a welcome addition to the bookshelf”, “thoughtful” and “a genuinely enjoyable read.”

Drawing on a distinguished career spanning roles with major national brands such as Cadbury, Taunton Cider and Yeo Valley as well as consultancy work across the South West, Michael reflects on the often unpredictable nature of marketing.

The book combines memoir with practical insight, exploring the challenges, improvisations, and unexpected moments that define life on the commercial frontline.

“About a decade ago, I wrote a light-hearted account of my career in marketing,” said Michael. “Over time, I realised there were stories left untold and topics that deserved a deeper dive. This new book allowed me to revisit those moments and expand on them.”

Written largely in local coffee shops in his hometown of Wellington, the book captures his conversational and reflective style. “I find writing away from home less constricting,” he added. “And, of course, coffee and cake tend to improve the process.”

Outside of writing, Michael is actively involved in his local community, volunteering at Wellington Community Farm, at Protect Wellington and Wellington Repair Cafe, mentoring small and medium-sized businesses, and supporting local initiatives.

With two books now published, Michael is planning a third instalment, continuing his exploration of the “weirdly wonderful” world of marketing.

PowerPoint & Coffee – The Refill is available now in paperback and Kindle formats via Amazon, Waterstones and Independent book stores.
