POLICE inquiries are continuing to be made following the sudden death last week of a teenager in a village near Wellington.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at about 7.15 am on Tuesday, August 25, when they received a concern for welfare call.
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust despatched paramedics who attended an address in Burlescombe.
The crew found a young girl unresponsive inside the property, and police were then called to the scene.
A Devon and Cornwall Constabulary spokesperson said: “Sadly, the girl was pronounced deceased a short time later.
“Police inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of her death, which is not currently being treated as suspicious.”
A file on the teenager’s death will be prepared for Devon Coroner Philip Spinney.
