WELLINGTON stood silent and still this morning as the nation said a final farewell to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

As the church bells tolled, local people remembered the Queen, and many had laid their own floral tributes.

This tribute read: “Thank you Your Majesty for your lifelong service and love for us all. Rest in peace with the angels.”

On the day of the Queen’s funeral, a bank holiday, school were shut, along with most businesses, allowing people to pay their respects.
