LOCAL neighbourhood police Chief Insp Rebecca Wells-Cole has visited Court Fields School, Wellington, for a meeting with members of the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) and youth IAG.

Quarterly IAG meetings are held as a vital opportunity for communities to share their concerns directly with the police.

Chief Insp Wells-Cole presented local crime statistics and also discussed community tensions with IAG members, giving them a chance to voice what matters most to them.

The IAG is made up of a group of volunteers from diverse backgrounds who work alongside police to offer independent advice, challenge thinking, and help shape policing decisions that affect their communities.

They are not part of the police, but community voices helping to make policing more responsive, ethical, and community-focused.
