Wellington fire fighters had a busy weekend which saw the station alerted on nine occasions.

On Saturday, September 9, crews were called out twice in the afternoon, first responding to a town centre alarm before attending a road traffic accident in Corfe.

On Sunday the station mobilised seven times, attending a property fire, gas leak, alarms and other incidents.

The station praised its crews for their good work over the busy weekend.

It comes after local fire fighters were mobilised in 42 occasions in August, battling fires, and on one occasion rescuing a person from a lift.
