FRESH from winning an RHS ‘Pride in Parks’ five-star rating for Wellington Park, the town council is preparing for the 2026 South West In Bloom competition.

A spokesperson said: “We are working hard to impress the judges.

“Part of this is putting together a great portfolio for judges to look at that outlines the work we have done in the past year and how this aligns with the ‘In Bloom’ ethos of horticultural excellence, environmental responsibility, and community participation.

“The portfolio includes detailed information about the work that has gone on, along with lots of pictures of the town throughout the year.”

Judges will also be looking at a project with the Woodland Trust planting 3,000 native trees and shrubs in the Basins for their ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ awards.
