A LONG-forgotten flower planter has been put on public display again in Wellington for the first time in several years.
The planter, shaped like Wellington Monument, has been erected in the centre of a roundabout on the approach to the town outside the Longforth Farm housing estate.
Installed by R W Gale Ltd, within the next couple of weeks the frame with be filled with troughs of flowers on three sides of the planter as a colourful welcome to Wellington.
After being in storage with Somerset Council for a number of years, the planter fabricated back in 1992 by local craftsman Reg Grabham was acquired by the Town Council in 2024, and refurbished with its new location by the Longforth Farm Estate decided by members.
