MEMBERS of Wellington School Chapel Choir (pictured) have visited Eton College in Windsor, joining in Evensong with the college choir in Eton Chapel.
The 40-strong contingent from Wellington were also treated to a tour of the college after rehearsals.
Tim Johnson, director of Music at Eton, used to be assistant director of Music at Wellington School under director of Music Andrew Trewhella. And John Young, Wellington’s piano and organ teacher, used to run the music at Eton’s Lower Chapel, while he was director of Music at St George’s Prep School in Windsor.
In addition, Wellington School headmaster Henry Price attended Eton as a boy and was delighted to visit his old school with the choir.
A Wellington School spokesman said: “With the chapel full with 500 Eton pupils and both choirs, the sound was incredible and will live long in the memory of all those who took part.”
