APOLOGIES in advance as it is still only April — but we are talking about Christmas!

Members of Wellington Town Council’s economic development committee agreed that this year’s Christmas Market and Lights Switch-On event will be held on Saturday, November 28, from 10am to 7pm.

Councillors heard at their meeting on April 15 that the actual festive lights would be switched-on at 6pm to illuminate the town and officially kick-off the countdown to Christmas celebrations.

The Christmas Lights switch-on event is being co-ordinated by the council’s events working group.

Meanwhile, the events working group is organising a Jumble Trail in Wellington – all set to take place on Sunday, May 24. Further details will be shared by the council in due course.
