A VOLUNTEER patient transport scheme has started operating again in Wellington after a short break during the summer.
The Welly Hopper is available for registered patients with Wellington Medical Centre who struggle to attend appointments.
A volunteer driver will pick them up from home and drive them to and from appointments at the medical centre or Wellington Community Hospital.
Journeys can be booked by calling the service on 07704682139 on Mondays and Fridays or 07704682143 on Wednesdays to speak to one of the co-ordinators between 9 am and 1 pm.
Welly Hopper chairman Erica Adams said the scheme was always on the look out for more volunteers to help.
Drivers use their own cars and receive a mileage payment while patients pay a small fee toward the cost.
