POLICE are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after two people were injured in a crash last week on the M5 motorway near Wellington.
Two cars were in collision on the northbound carriageway between Wellington’s junction 26 and Taunton’s junction 25 at about 3.20 pm on Wednesday, March 25.
The crash involved white BMW and black MG cars and saw both Wellington fire crews and a heavy rescue vehicle from Taunton Fire Station attend.
The firefighters used cutting and stabilising equipment to free a person trapped in one of the cars, before making the vehicle safe.
The driver of the MG required treatment in Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, and a passenger from the BMW was admitted to hospital but discharged later the same day to continue recovering at home.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Witnesses, or anybody with other information that can assist our inquiries, are asked to contact us online or on 101 quoting reference number 5226082234.”
