A WOMAN has been charged following a collision which left a row of parked cars seriously damaged in Wellington.

The woman, 22, who was driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport which collided with a row of parked cars, is due to appear in court later this month.

The incident happened in Wellesley Park at about 11.20 pm on Sunday (March 3) when a row of four parked cars suffered extensive damage, causing the closure of the road for a number of hours.

Jessica Cooper-Hogan, who was said to be of no fixed address, has now been charged with driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit, driving without insurance, and driving without due care and attention.

She was arrested on Sunday and initially held in custody but has now been released on unconditional bail.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said Cooper-Hogan was due to appear before magistrates sitting in Taunton on Monday, March 25.
