NYNEHEAD hotshot Abbey Ling has made a winning start to her shooting career after being out of action for ten months.
Ling, who is married to fellow GB shooter Ed Ling, won the Kevin Gill Memorial Shoot, a trap challenge event open to girls and seniors, which was held over three days, at the renowned Fauxdeglia clay shooting centre.
Following this she then went out to Lonato in Italy for a week-long competition and just missed out by two clays in making the final.
However, there was some bad news for Abbey. She landed back in the UK from Italy to find that the family's shooting range at Nynehead had caught fire in the heat wave, destroying the range on the farm.
Abbey has won a total of six individual medals at the World and European Championships - four silver and two bronze. She has also been four-times British Ladies Champion and has represented England at the Commonwealth Games.
