WELLINGTON Town are through to the final of the Taunton & District Youth Football League's Under 16 KO Cup following a 4-1 away victory over Middlezoy Rovers at Bridgwater College.

The all-conquering Wellington side, who are on course to win three major trophies, fully deserved their victory over Rovers.

Harry Jones and Lewis Oaten put Wellington 2-0 up at half time and although Rovers pulled a goal back from the penalty spot Connor Cussans and Joe Robinson scored further goals as Wellington dominated the rest of the second half.

They will now play Staplegrove in the final on Taunton Town's ground on Sunday week (April 28), with a 3.30p.m. kick-off.

Wellington's hopes of winning the league title have also been boosted following Elmore's 2-2 draw against Galmington. Wellington have to play Elmore twice and need to win only one of these games to make sure of the title.

Wellington are also through to the final of the Somerset Under 16 Shield where they will play Burnham on Sea at Middlezoy on Sunday, May 5, with a 3p.m. kick-off.

Wellington's manager, Wayne Oaten, said: "The lads can be very proud of themselves. They train hard and this is their reward. They don't take anything for granted."
