ASHBRITTLE made a flying start to the new season with a nine-wicket away victory over East Huntspill in the second division of the West Somerset Cricket League yesterday (Sat).

On a day when most games were called off because of the wet weather, Ashbrittle bowled out the home side for 62 with Callum Hamer snapping up 4-15 in eight overs, while Steven Grant took 2-3 and Harry Norman 1-11.

East Huntsphill made a disastrous start, losing five wickets in scoring only nine runs,with only Andrew Chedzoy (18) and Bill Smith (11) managing double figures.

Mark White (14 not out) and Andy Hill (28) put on 42 runs for the first wicket and Grant (10 not out) came in to join White in knocking off the runs.
