REIGNING champions Rockwell Green have finished runners-up to Kingsmead in this year’s charity shortmat bowls competition played over five weeks at Bradford on Tone.

The Green met Kingsmead on Week One and won both the pairs & triples, gaining 4 points.

Week Two saw Rockwell play Hemyock and again won both pairs & triples.

On Week Three Rockwell played Staplegrove and won the triples but lost the pairs, gaining 2 points.

On Week Four the Green played Kingscliff & lost both matches and so gained no points.

With the Green having completed their matches, Kingsmead required three points to take the trophy which they did by winning one game and drawing the other.

So the trophy went to Kingsmead with 11 points with the Green runners up on 10 points.

A big vote of thanks went to Bradford on Tone for a well organised competition and all teams hope to be back next year.

*The Green are always looking to welcome new players .
