WELLINGTON will again have a side playing in the Somerset Sunday Football League this season.

Moortown St Malachy’s, managed by Jo Conway Jnr, will be playing in the 12-team second division and will kick off the new season by playing away to Spartans on Sunday, August 30.

Moortown pulled out of the league after the 24-25 season because of problems in putting out a team.

But Jo said this week: “We promised the lads we would be entering a team this season. It’s not always easy running a Sunday team, because some of the players play on Saturdays. But we’re hoping to have a successful season.”

Moortown will play their games either on the all-weather pitch at Court Fields or Pitch Two at the Playing Field.

Teams in the second division are: AFC Dunster, Butlins, Cotford Rovers, Highbridge Warriors, Hinton St George, Moortown St Malachy’s, Nether Stowey, Northwalls United, Spartans, Strong Mentality, Watchet Town Blue Waves, Williton.
