WELLINGTON Bowling Club’s annual tour has taken place. Thirty two people in all travelled to Torquay for three days of indoor bowling.

Many of those travelling from Wellington were able to play bowls matches against a touring team from Harpenden and two other local bowling clubs.

Although all the players enjoyed their bowling, the scores, unfortunately, tended to favour the opposing teams!

As usual the best team of the day received a small prize and the team with the biggest loss were presented with a wooden spoon.

However there was some compensation for those Wellington teams who ended up with the wooden spoon. This year, not only were the spoons decorated with hair, eyes and mouth, they were wearing a wooden boot as well!

But whether they won or lost, everyone had a great time and would like to thank Steve and Janet Lovell for once again organising a wonderful tour.
