MEMBERS of Wellington Bowling Club based at Corams Lane gathered on the green on a fine, bright afternoon to compete in a fun, friendly internal competition.
Eight teams of three players represented bowling countries from across the world - from England to New Zealand. They played three hard fought matches of six ends each which was enjoyed by all who took part .
In the end it was the Wales team of Ron Taylor, Andy Pearce and Paul Kelsall who ran out comfortable winners and took away the trophy!
Man of the match was Ron Taylor who bowled extremely well and played a big part in his team’s success.
The event was very well organised and run by Mixed League Club Captain, Ian Hollingsworth.
Meanwhile, this is a busy time of the year for local bowlers who are involved in a number of events - both at home and on other clubs’ greens.
