LEFT-BACK Jack Bown-Porter has joined the management team at Toolstation League club Wellington.

New boss Richard Cherry disclosed today (Tues) that he has appointed Porter assistant player-manager and coach.

Cherry, who was himself only appointed manager last week, said he has spoken to members of the first team squad and a 'majority want to stay.'

He added: "This is obviously good news. A couple of the better players are also being looked at by other clubs.

"I also have a few new ones interested in joining Wellington. We will have to see how it pans out."
