WEATHER permitting, record-breaking Wellington will be chasing their 11th successive victory in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League when they play Wembdon at home this afternoon (Sat).
Of course, the weather will be the dominate factor with rain forecast for much of the day.
Despite their unblemished record, Wellington have only a 12-point lead over second-placed Chard who have lost two matches this season. Wellington are 100 per cent - a record for the side in the West of England League.
Wellington beat Yeovil by 75 runs away last weekend, collecting 20 points for a tenth win in a row.Wellington scored 193 all out from their 50 overs, a respectable total in the damp conditions. It proved too many for Yeovil who slumped to 118 all out with Toby Stiraker snapping up 6-40 - his best figures of the season.
Wellington 2nd XI, who are also setting the pace at the top of Division Four in the Somerset League, are away to Bishops Hull who have played less games than teams above them and cannot be ruled out of the championship race even though they are down in sixth spot.
Wellington 3rd XI, in second place in Division Seven Red, are away to Taunton Deane 5th XI, who are 35 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
