Ashbrittle pulled off an impressive away win vs Morebath on Saturday, setting the host's a score of 240 from their 40 overs.
The standout scorers for Ashbrittle were Sam Shaikh's 61 from 50 balls, Mark White's 62 from 106 deliveries, and Rob Williams' tidy 33 opening the batting.
Ashbrittle needed to take early wickets to stand a chance of earning a win on a small ground, and Luke Williams did exactly that.
His figures of 3-27 from seven set the standard. Callum White picked up one wicket in the opening spell of the game, but Morebath were to fight back through the middle overs, leading to a tight finish in store.
Sam Shaikh then turned the game on its head, with a ruthless spell of 5-43 from 8.3 overs, settling Ashbrittle’s nerves, and leading the team home with a brilliant performance, backed with some really tidy fielding from the whole side.
