ASHBRITTLE and Watchet have continued their battle at the top of the first division in the West Somerset Cricket League.
The sides now have the same number of points after gaining away victories in their latest games, with Watchet collecting one more point than their rivals.
Ashbrittle, who won the toss at Kilve and chose to bat, scored 196-8 with Jake Sharland (55) and Steven Grant (45) being their main batters, sharing in a 91-run fifth wicket stand of 91. Tom Wilcox took 3-29 and S James 2-36.
Rio Rock (34) and Jim Taylor (30) were Kilve's leading batters as the home side were bowled out for 149 with Oliver White snapping up 5-24 while Grant took 2-26 and F Bartlett 2-22.
Reigning champions Watchet gained their eighth win of the season when beating Morebath, who slipped down to fourth in the table, by 60 runs.
Watchet, who opted to bat first, scored 254-7 with good knocks from Ryan Strong (80), Oliver Saddington (35), Eben Harding (35), Tom Sparks (32) and Ben Robinson (30). Graham Turner took 2-35 and Irindu Gallase 2-55.
Strong proved to be the star of the game, taking 5-35 as Morebath were bowled out for 194, their main batters being James Carey (43), Dan Rottenbury (33) and Sam Nelson (32).
Crowcombe are up into third spot after they won by 23 runs away to Over Stowey who were all out for 171 when chasing 194.
Will Ellis scored 46 and Richard Baker 33 for Crowcombe while Haydon Langlois took 4-46 and Darren Langlois 3-48.
Wicketkeeper Kieran Barrow was Stowey's leading batter with 71, while Richard Baker took 4-44 and Jalees Khattak 4-42.
Brompton Ralph conceded their game at Bagborough while Sampford Arundel failed to fulfil their fixture at home to Bridgetown.
In the second division, Roadwater maintained their title bid with a 171-run home win over Cutcombe, who were bowled out for 105 with Ethan Starmer-Jones taking 4-24, Zac Watson 2-35 and Pete Cole 2-9.
Earlier Roadwater scored 276-8 with Dan Phippen hitting 81, Roberts 35, Mark Bolton 32 and Rob Trapnell 31, while Harry Pursey took 5-39.
Lydeard St Lawrence cruised to a nine-wicket home win over Cannington after bowling out the home side for 137 with Melvyn Gale taking 6-23. For Cannington, opener Ollie Reading was 48 not out while fellow opener Steve Tilley was run out after making 68.
Churchinford gained only their second success of the season when they beat Winsford by 21 runs but remain second from bottom in the table.
Put into bat by the opposition, Churchinford scored 207-7 in a 30 overs a side game, with opener Chris Roberts knocking 52, while Ali Layard and Mark Gabriel (not out) both scored 43. Jeremy Bingham took 4-38.
Winsford responded with 186-8 in their allotted overs with seven batters into double figures with Max Pitman being the top run-getter with 27 while Roberts took 3-13 and Mark Gabriel 2-49.
