LOCAL darts professional Ryan Searle has autographed a picture of himself in Bremen painted by one of his German fans Margit Kiel.

Nicknamed 'Heavy Metal,' Ryan has since met up again with Margit telling her he really liked the picture.

She has now painted a second picture of Ryan and wants to hand it over to him as a gift.

Searle reached the semi-finals of the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship earlier this year, where he was defeated 6-1 by the defending champion and super star Luke Littler who went on to retain his title.

Entering the tournament as the 20th seed, Searle's impressive run at Alexandra Palace included dominant victories over James Hurrell and Jonny Clayton before ending the tournament in the top 10.

Searle began playing darts in the Wellington League before going on to enjoy a successful career on the circuit which these days receives massive TV coverage.
