LAND Girls have been drawn against Jolly Blues in the first round of Wellington Ladies Skittles League’s KO Cup in a repeat of last season’s final.

Land Girls came out on top, winning the cup after beating their rivals and league champions Jolly Blues by 25 pins.

First round draw: Land Girls v Jolly Blues (at Conservative Club, downstairs), Wanderers v Water Babies (Cottage Inn), LOA Spare v Split Pins (Conservative Club, upstairs).

Meanwhile, the league have held its annual meeting at the Rugby Club when it was disclosed that Geronimo, who struggled all last winter, had pulled out of the league.

However, the number of teams stays the same because a new side 8 QT’s have joined the league and will be playing their home games at the Conservative Club (downstairs).

Muppets have moved from the Soccer Club to the Victoria (downstairs) and are now called Split Happens.

The season is set to get underway on Monday, September 7.
