FIFTEEN-year-old Nathan Roberts has been named Wellington Cricket Club’s Young Player of the Year.

He was presented with his award at the club’s annual dinner at the Beambridge Inn. About 100 players, members and guests attended the event.

Young Roberts started the past season playing for the 2nd XV before going on to play for the senior side.

Connor Wickenden, who won the 3rd XI’s Players Player, received the Clubman of the Year trophy while veteran Rob Moysey won the Sportsman of the Year award, 2nd XI batting, the Sunday/Midweek T20 batting and took five wickets on three occasions.

Andy Hurry won the batting and bowling awards for the 3rd XI while Amanda Moysey and Ali Campbell won the ladies award.

Award winners included: Clubman of the Year - Connor Wickenden; Young Player of the Year- Nathan Roberts; Sportsman of the Year - Rob Moysey; Ladies Award - Amanda Moysey and Ali Campbell.
