WELLINGTON'S season in the Premier Division of the Toolstation Football League draws to a close tonight with a home game against Ilfracombe Town, with a kick-off time of 6.30p.m.

Wellington have finished in the lower reaches of the division, having targeted at least a mid-table spot.

Joint managers Alex Pope and Tim Legg will probably be disappointed with such a position, and will be 'sitting down' with club chairman Mike Hall shortly to discuss plans and ideas for next season.

"Mike has been our main point of contact with the club," said Pope. "Then it will become a committee matter. At the moment I am forcusing on my business and football with Wellington."

It has certainly been a difficult season for Wellington, as for all clubs, with a number of postponements this year because of the bad weather which has proved a headache for secretary Jeff Brown.

"It is more of a problem for us because we have to be off the Playing Field in mid-April to allow the cricket club to use it," said Brown.

"But the cricket club have been brilliant and allowed us to complete our fixtures on the ground. We've only had to play one 'home' game away. That was at Buckland on Tuesday."
