WELLINGTON suffered their fifth successive postponement when their derby game at home to Bridgwater United in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League was called off on Wednesday, February 4, because of a rain-soaked pitch.
It followed a pitch inspection at lunchtime along with a video session with the game's referee.
It means Wellington's first team have not played since they beat Shepton Mallet 2-1 at home in a Les Phillips Cup tie in the middle of last month.
Meanwhile, Wellington will be hoping to get back into action when they play away to Cheddar in a rearranged Les Phillips Cup quarter-final on Saturday, February 7.
This tie has already been postponed twice at Wellington and under the competition rules it has been switched to Cheddar who are struggling near the foot of the first division in the Jewson League. Wellington Reserves, who have not played since the beginning of January, are due to play away to Sidmouth Town Reserves in the Premier Division of the Stitch2Print Devon & Exeter League. Wellington are lying fourth with Sidmouth one place below them.
Wellington A, bottom of the Premier Division in the Centregreat Taunton and District Saturday League, play away to second-placed Dunwear United in the Premier Division.
Wellington recorded their only victory of the season early last month when they beat Galmington 7-4 on the all-weather pitch at Court Fields School.
Wellington Wildcats, who have not played since they lost 3-1 away to Cheddar Ladies in Division One of the Somerset Women's League in mid-January, are away to top fo the table Portishead Ladies Reserves on Sunday. Wildcats are lying fifth.
Wellington's successful Under 18 side face an away match against bottom side Frome Town in South Division of the Western Counties Floodlit Youth League next Thursday, February 12. Wellington are currently third in the table, while Frome are bottom.
