THE final of Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League’s Payne KO Cup is being staged at the Victoria Arms, upstairs alley, this evening (Feb 15).

It is between the holders Mowers, who have dominated skittles in the area for years, and Reservists.

Both teams are going for league and cup doubles this season, with Reservists flying high in Division A, and Mowers on course for their 21th successsive championship in Division B.

In the semi-finals, Reservists gained an 11-pin victory over Division A rivals Relyon with Glen Escott steering them to victory with a fine 70. Mowers made it through to the final by beating Scuppas by only six pins.

The teams will toss up for who skittles first at 8.10 p.m. and food will be provided at the end of the match.
