WELLINGTON’S football manager Tim Legg has been pleased with the number of players turning up for first team training in preparation for the new season in the Toolstation League.

“We had 19 at training last week, including some new faces,” said Legg. “I’m also expecting more potential new players at this week’s sessions which are now twice weekly – Monday and Thursday.

“I’m still hoping we can get started in September and that we can play some pre-season friendlies in August. We will be in good shape whenever the season begins.”

The soccer floodlights on the Playing Field have been taken down ready for cricket to start up again on Sunday.
