WELLINGTON’S football manager Clive Jones has already begun having talks with potential new players for next season.

Jones is in a position to strengthen his side and has said there will be a ‘massive shake-up’ during the summer.

Whether this coming season will be his last at Wellington may well depend on how he fares next season or if he feels he cannot take the club any further.

Meanwhile, Wellington play their last match of the season this coming Saturday when they face Clevedon Town away in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League.

“I would like to end with a win,” said Jones. “It has been a long and hard season. We’ve had a tendency to give away sloppy and silly goals.

“We’ve also not been able to field a settled side, which always makes life difficult. It has meant changes almost every week.

Jones is hoping that both Josh Wadham and Joe Chamberlain, who were injured in Good Friday’s 4-1 defeat at Bridgwater, will have recovered in time to play at Clevedon.

Wellington, who expect to be at near full-strength, and Clevedon have played each other twice this season, once in the league and Somerset Premier Cup, with one victory apiece.

Wellington Reserves have completed their fixtures in Division One of the Devon and Exeter League but Hemyock still have three more games in Division Four, starting with a home fixture against Pinhoe on Saturday.

They are away to the same opposition on Friday, May 3, and home to Exeter University 5ths the following Monday.

n Bishops Lydeard Reserves, managed by ex-Sampford Blues boss Nick Buttle, have won the first division title in the Invest Southwest Taunton Saturday League.

Lydeard have also reached the final of the KO Cup and the Somerset Junior Cup.
