THE Wellington walking football team came out way ahead when they took on Taunton at Wellington sports centre.

Wellington won the seven-a-side game with male and female players aged from their forties to their seventies, 16-5.

The match was played in 30 degree heat and the Taunton team were applauded for their stamina as they played the full match with no substitutions.

Many of the players have taken up walking football due to injuries, medical conditions or just because they have become less active.
