WELLINGTON play their first home game of the season on Saturday (Sep 10) when they face Bishop Sutton in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase (3.00), writes Barry Knott.

After eight successive away games, Wellington are lying second on goal difference to Malmesbury Victoria in Division One of the Toolstation League.

But Wellington boss Clive Jones has warned his players: “There will be changes.”

Despite winning 4-3 away to Almondsbury UWE on Saturday, Jones felt his side’s display was ‘poor’. “We keep making the same mistakes every week,” he said. “hey are not listening to me.

“I am not trying to be negative because we have played eight successive away games and we have points on the board.

“We’re meant to be a team and we’re not looking like a team. I shall be looking to make changes this week. Some of the lads have played in all eight games and others have not played enough football.

“We also need to learn how to play and win at home. It’s a different ball game when you play away.

“We now have points on the board and we look to push on.”

Wellington Reserves, who lost 6-4 away to Topsham Town following extra time in the East Devon Cup, are away to University 2nds on Saturday.

Hemyock, who drew 4-4 at home to Offwell Rangers, are home again on Saturday when they play Lyme Regis Reserves in Division Six while Wellington Thirds, who lost 5-1 away to KM Polonia Exeter, are away to Exmouth Spartans.
