WELLINGTON boss Clive Jones has asked his players to ‘raise their game’ for the very last time in tomorrow’s away match against Cadbury Heath in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League, writes Barry Knott.
“I want them to play the way they did at Melksham on Saturday,” said Jones who completes his third full season in charge. “We were very unlucky not to get something out of that game.
“Unfortunately I’ve been disappointed with our performances over the past month. And we still need a point to hit our target of 40 points for the season which is where I thought we would be.”
Jones hopes to field virtually his strongest available side for tomorrow’s game against a side below them in the table.
Wellington are 16th in the table, and have seven more points than Cadbury Heath who have two matches in hand.
Meanwhile Jones says he is going to be “much busier” this summer while preparing for the new season. “I now realise I didn’t work hard enough last summer and I will be putting this right,” he added. “I don’t want us to be a fifth from bottom side.”
