WELLINGTON’S football manager Tim Legg has not ruled out playing next season.

Legg, who took charge of the side last October, says he still sees himself as “a manager first.”

“I will play if I think I am needed,” he said this week. “It is not easy to manage and play at the same time.”

Legg, who has played Southern League football for Taunton and Bridgwater Town, said he has been in touch with all his current players and they all want to stay.

“They are gutted the season ended so abruptly,” he said. “They would have liked to have had the opportunity to show they could have avoided relegation.

“Our big problem last season was we lacked a goalscorer. We need to work on a route to goal.”

Last season has been declared null and void which means Wellington will again be playing in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League.

Legg said he felt sorry for the likes of Plymouth Parkway and Bradford who ‘worked hard for promotion.’
