CONNOR Sidley-Adams, rated the best goalkeeper in the Toolstation League’s first division by Wellington boss Clive Jones, has confirmed he wants to stay with the champions.

Sidley-Adams joined Wellington at the beginning of last winter and had an outstanding season.

“Connor was without doubt the best goalkeeper in our division and it’s brilliant he is staying with us,” said Jones who steered Wellington to the title in only his second season with the club.

“In fact he’ll be one of the best in the premier division next season, if not the best. I know it sounds silly but Connor was also one of the best passers of the ball in our side last season.

“It’s also good to have a goalkeeper which the defence have complete faith in. The previous season we used a number of goalkeepers and I didn’t want the same situation again. Connor hardly missed a game last season which enabled me to field an unchanged defence for much of the time.”
