A FULL field of 44 teams of four will be taking part in Oake Manor Golf Club’s annual pro-am tournament on Friday, with the first golfers out at 7.50 a.m.
Top golfers from all over the west, including PGA Seniors and several ex-European Tour players, will be taking part in what promises to be an exciting day, not only for the pros but for the amateurs.
Liam Bond, of Marriott St Pierre, who is the current PGA South West region leader with 730 points after four events, is competing along with his nearest rivals, Paul Hendriksen, of Ivybridge, with 716 points and Ross Langdon, of Brickhampton Court, with 687.88 points.
The course is again looking in superb condition for what is a big event for the club.
The main sponsor of the event is Total Triumph, while among the hole sponsors are Associations Ltd., R & R Construction & Development Ltd, St James Place, Maxwells Accountants, Logo Golf Balls Ltd, Colourtone, Molson Coors Brewers and Somerset County Cars (Toyota).
The last golfers are not expected out until 2.39 p.m.
Coming up later in the year at Oake Manor are: Tuesday, September 13 Ladies 3 Ball Bowmaker Open; Wednesday, September 21 Mixed 4BBB Open; Friday, September 30 Men’s Open; Thursday, October 6 Seniors 3 Ball Variable Open; Wednesday, October 19 Mixed Seniors Greensomes Open.
