IAN Bellinger, who plays his Saturday football for Wellington, has scored a record-breaking 106 goals for newcomers Tiger Old Boys in the Keyline Taunton Sunday League this season.

His teammate Carl Jones hammered 90 goals for the Old Boys who won three trophies - the third division, Gardner Cup and the Jim Jowett Memorial up.

The Old Boys won 35-0 in one game against Taunton Warriors, breaking the old record by five goals.

The side has been managed for the past 27 years by Alan Lott, 68, who said: “Without sounding too arrogant, I tried to warn the league at the beginning of the season we would be too strong for the third division. But they said that as a new team we had to start at the bottom.

“I’m 99 per cent certain we will be playing in the first division next season.”
