DANIEL C scored a hat-trick as Wellington Under 18s started their season in South Division of the the Western Counties Floodlight Youth Football League with a 4-4 draw away to Sherborne Town.

Wellington flew out of the traps with Daniel opening the scoring two minutes into the game, slotting home from close range. Sherborne replied instantly with three goals in six minutes but Daniel made it 3-3 at half-time with two free kicks.

Wellington felt Sherborne should have been down to ten men when captain Elijah was through on goal before being brought down by the last man on the edge of the area.

They took the lead in the second half as Ethan scored from a corner only for Sherborne to equalise with ten minutes to go.

It was a great start for the boys to build on, with their first home game being against Street on Wednesday, September 16.
