WELLINGTON Under 18s lost their first match of the season when they went down 3-1 at home to Street in South Division of the Western Counties Floodlight Youth League. Wellington didn’t start as well as they did the previous week and, after 12 minutes, found themselves 1-0 down.
The remainder of the first half was pretty even with neither side creating any further opportunities.
After the break, Wellington were much brighter and went close when Ollie A skipped past two players but fired his shot narrowly wide on 49 minute.
Wellington kept up the pressure and were rewarded when captain Elijah H was fouled in the box and slotted the resulting penalty home.
A five-minute lapse which saw two preventable goals were conceded, left Wellington 3-1 down with 20 minutes to play.
However, they never gave up and were again rewarded on the 90th minute when Ollie A found the net.
The ball sponsor was Scott Andrews, painting and decorating.
