WELLINGTON went down to an 8-1 home loss to neighbours Willand Rovers in South Division of the Western Counties Floodlit Youth Football League in mid-week.
The visitors led 4-0 at half-time, although the Tangerines had a host of chances in the first half.
The first came from a Harvey corner which wasn’t quite turned in following a scramble in the box.
Skipper Elijah then broke through one-on-one with the keeper, as did Ollie A, but neither could reduce the deficit.
Wellington came out for the second half but conceded a fifth goal within a few minutes of the restart.
Elijah did pull one back from a well-placed penalty midway through the second half, but Willand went on to finish the game as comfortable winners.
Wellington would like to thank match sponsor JH Total Construction and match ball sponsor Planned Roofing Systems for their support.
Wellington play at Ilminster in their next league match on Tuesday, November 3.
