BRADFORD TOWN 1
WELLINGTON 1
WELLINGTON gained their second hard-earned away point in four days when they drew at Bradford in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League last Saturday.
Having drawn in midweek at Shepton Mallet, who knocked out Willand Rovers in the FA Cup on the same day as this game, Wellington recovered from an unfortunate own goal after only three minutes.
But they enjoyed a slice of luck themselves in the 16th minute when Bradford goalkeeper Marko Radovanjovic dropped the ball into his own net to level the scores. More luck followed for the visitors in the 35th minute when Bradford hit the Wellington crossbar. Bradford had the ball in the back of the net again in the 67th minute but the ‘goal’ was disallowed.
Radovanjovic made up for his big mistake in the 75th minute when he made a brilliant save to deny Jesse Howe’s free kick.
Last season’s skipper Glen Wright, who missed the opening three games through injury, was on the bench but did not come on. Wellington made only one substitution during the game, with young Ollie Holman replacing James Clough in the 65th minute. The other Wellington substitute, Tim Legg, was not used.
Wellington: Chandler Hallett, Josh Champion, Jordan Casey, Jason Quick, Jack Lewis, Jamie Vaughan-Ryall, Mason Raymond, James Clough, Miles Quick, Harry Walford, Jesse Hawe. Substitutes: Ollie Holman (for Clough after 65 minutes), Tim Legg, Glen Wright (not used). Attendance: 89.
n The match started 30 minutes late after Wellington and the match officials were held up by an accident on the motorway.
