WELLINGTON have strengthened their much depleted first team squad by signing striker Charlie Bridges from Toolstation League premier division leaders Street, writes Barry Knott.
Bridges has been playing for Street Reserves and Wellington boss Clive Jones said yesterday: “Charlie wants to play in the Toolstation League. At the moment he’s not getting that opportunity.”
Wellington are struggling to score goals, mainly because Ian Bellinger and Conor Bryant both have ankle injuries, Jack Taylor left to join Bridgwater Town, and makeshift striker Kai Fisher has rejoined Barnstaple Town.
“At the moment we are playing to our full potential but at this level it is not good enough,” said Jones. “The players are giving me everything.
“We’ve not got the players up front and I have to address this.”
Wellington, who have lost their last two home games, play Hengrove Athletic in a league game at the Playing Field on Saturday.
